The Campbelltown Local History room functions as the hub of our local history collection. You'll find a wealth of information about Campbelltown's people, places and events, in photographs, pamphlets, maps, documents, books, scrapbooks, school year books, newspaper clippings and physical artefacts. Local History materials are for reference only and cannot be borrowed.
Before you throw it out!
Many of the items in the Local History Room come to us as donations. If you have historically-significant materials you'd like to have preserved in the community for future researchers, please consider donating them to us. If you have photos of local people and places you don't want to part with, let us borrow them to make digital copies for our collection.
'Digital Diggers' Local History Group
The ‘Digital Diggers’ Local History group works together to help make the historical digital collections of South Australia more accessible and meaningful. This group will appeal to those interested in researching family and local history and the group will also learn the digital skills needed to preserve historical records.
Drop in every Thursday between 1pm and 3pm in the Library IT Suite, however participants can contribute to the project at any time that suits them over the internet.
Contact Alison Hall on 8366 9358 or firstname.lastname@example.org at the Campbelltown Library for more details.
