Recycle Right Comes to Campbelltown

Three Bin SystemCampbelltown City Council provides a three bin Kerbside Waste Collection service through its contractor East Waste, that is at the forefront of environmentally responsible waste management.

Campbelltown's three-bin waste collection service includes:

  • A 140 litre bin with a blue lid for general waste, collected weekly
  • A 240 litre bin with a yellow lid for recyclables, collected fortnightly
  • A 240 litre bin with a green lid for green organics, collected fortnightly 
When will my bins be collected?

In the event of a Catastrophic Fire Danger Warning, Council's waste collection services will be suspended. If there are a number of Catastrophic Fire Danger rating days forecast, East Waste will assess the lowest risk time to collect waste. For more information visit the East Waste website.

Residents should leave their bins out until collected as services will be re-scheduled as soon as appropriate.

Bins WILL NOT be collected if they are:
  • Overloaded or material protrudes from the top
  • Too heavy (60kg maximum) otherwise bins can break or snap when being lifted by the arm of the truck
  • Packed too tightly, as items will not fall into the truck
  • Containing prohibited items.
  • Not in an approved collection container
  • Situated on a vacant block (except green waste bin)
  • Not presented correctly.
What should I do if my bin doesn't get collected?

What should I do if I require a replacement bin?

Campbelltown City Council provides one set of three wheelie bins per property. Blue lid 140L bin for domestic waste, Yellow lid 240L bin for recycling & green lid 240L bin for green organics. If a bin is damaged beyond repair, missing or stolen it will need to be replaced at the residents expense.  Please contact Mastec on 8259 9700 to organise a new bin to be delivered to your home. Alternatively you can purchase a second hand bin providing it meets the Council requirements outlined above. Should the bin be damaged by Council's Contractor during collection, please contact East Waste 8347 5111 or east@eastwaste.com.  If the bin has fallen into the collection vehicle, East Waste will organise a new bin to be delivered.

What should I do if I have a broken lid or wheel?

Please contact East Waste on 8347 5111 or east@eastwaste.com. They will organise a day and time for you to leave the bin out on the kerb for repair. 

What should I do if I live in a Housing SA property?

If your bin is lost or stolen and you are living in a Housing SA (trust) Property, Housing SA will replace bins if you have a Police report number. Contact your local Police Station to report the theft, then contact Housing SA on 131 299 and ask for the Maintenance Department.

What should I do if I live in a rental property and require a replacement bin?

If you are a tenant, please contact your Landlord or the Property Manager to arrange for a new bin to be delivered. It will be up to them to purchase a new bin.
