It is behoving upon all Australians to right the wrongs of the past and embrace our shared Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures. We can do that through a process we call ‘Reconciliation’. Reconciliation is all about respecting, recognising, embracing, understanding, celebrating and experiencing this culture that is so much a part of our lives as Australians. It’s time to leave behind the stereotypes and prejudices of the past and embrace understanding to properly reconcile with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians.

This is all very easy to say, but not so easy to do. That is why organisations like Council are taking the lead and demonstrating the practical actions required to progress Reconciliation.
