Fruit Crew and Grow Free

Fruit Crew

The Campbelltown Fruit Crew are a small group of trained volunteers who rescue excess fruit from households in the Campbelltown Council area. The collected fruit then goes to participating local schools, programs and organisations that work with people in need.

The project aims to save excess home grown fruit from going to waste.

Since commencing in late 2016 the Fruit Crew have collected and distributed over 3000kg of fruit – that’s the equivalent of an adult hippopotamus!

To become a Fruit Crew volunteer or to request the Fruit Crew come and pick your excess fruit please contact Sophie Kavoukis, Community Development Officer (Neighbourhoods), on 8366 9303 or skavoukis@campbelltown.sa.gov.au.
